re: THE BEST OF WHO YOU ARE

Updated: Jan 11

Have you realized this lately?  You deserve for the big and small moments of your life to reflect the best of who you are.  (And I know it's possible.)

Last week I ran into the store to get a few large storage bins. I was sure I could carry them out so I didn't take a cart. Turns out they were too bulky and heavy and since I didn't have time to walk all the way back to the front for a cart, I shrugged my shoulders and decided to pull them along behind me.

I was laughing at myself at how ridiculous I thought I looked - even though there weren't many people in the aisles and no one seemed to care- but even the pulling got kind of hard.

So I started to push them! That went a lot better and I thought it was a great idea, although I was still telling myself I was embarrassed. (Which made me feel embarrassed, by the way.)

By the time I got to the checkout line I realized I wasn't embarrassed- I was proud of myself for figuring it out. (Taking care of it to get the job done.)

I recorded all of this for a friend who called when it was in progress so she could later laugh with me. (You can watch it on my IG or FB.)

But while watching the video myself I realized there was a bigger lesson to be learned.

YOUR TAKE ACTION FRAMEWORK:

1. The way you think about yourself and your abilities really matters.

2. Get clear on what those beliefs are.  (I have a deeply rooted belief that if there's something I want to happen, there's a way it can work. More of that story is in the reel caption.)

3. Start to notice- in situations big and small- how those beliefs show up. (Get used to asking yourself throughout the day: What might this say about me?)

4. Be honest with yourself when the impact isn’t helpful. (Keep a journal or notes log on what happened and what you noticed. If you wish something had gone different, write that out too- it primes your brain to make a change moving forward.)

5. Acknowledge and celebrate when the way you believe and act makes things better. (Feeling proud and accomplished- even on small wins- helps us keep the momentum toward our bigger goals.)

YOUR REFLECTION QUESTION:

What might this (conversation, situation, outcome) say about me?

I'd love to hear what you know and notice about yourself- and how it plays out in the small and big moments of your life! Respond to this email and let me know. :)

We're in this together!

Warmly,

Your Coach Candace
